Bethesda remains steadfast in its commitment to Redfall, despite the game’s tumultuous launch earlier this year. While Bethesda’s upcoming title, Starfield, has garnered considerable attention during its early access period, it’s essential to remember that the publisher faced significant challenges with Redfall.

The open-world vampire shooter suffered from a notably troubled release, marred by various issues. However, Bethesda’s Head of Global Publishing, Pete Hines, expressed the company’s determination to support and enhance the Arkane-developed title. Hines stated in a recent interview with GamesIndustry.biz, “We don’t quit or abandon stuff just because it didn’t start right.”
He compared Redfall’s launch struggles to past Bethesda titles like The Elder Scrolls Online and Fallout 76, both of which encountered rocky starts but eventually evolved into successful and popular experiences.

Hines outlined plans for Redfall’s future, including improvements such as achieving a stable 60 FPS frame rate. He believes that services like Game Pass will facilitate the game’s continued development and availability, envisioning Redfall as a long-term offering on the platform.

While the game’s initial reception was negative, Bethesda is determined to turn things around. Redfall, which launched in May, faced criticism from both critics and players, primarily due to performance issues.
Notably, Xbox players were promised a 60 FPS experience, a promise yet to be fulfilled.
