Lies Of P is a challenging game that, much like its Soulslike counterparts, relies heavily on precise combat mechanics. Among these mechanics, the Perfect Guard, a form of parry, stands out as a skill that separates skilled players from the rest. Additionally, understanding Groggy Status and how to exploit it can turn the tide of battle in your favor.

What Does The Perfect Guard Do?

The Perfect Guard is a defensive technique that involves timing your guard just right to parry an enemy’s attack flawlessly. This skill has multiple benefits:

  1. Status Effect Immunity: Perfect Guard protects you from suffering any status effects, providing a significant advantage in challenging battles.
  2. Stamina Efficiency: When you perform a Perfect Guard, it consumes less stamina compared to a normal block, allowing you to conserve your stamina for offense.
  3. Counterattack Opportunity: After a successful Perfect Guard, you have a brief window to unleash a punishing counterattack on your opponent.

When Should You Use The Perfect Guard?

Perfect Guard, while powerful, should be employed judiciously:

  1. Mini-Bosses and Bosses: Reserve the Perfect Guard for mini-bosses and boss enemies, as it allows you to gain an upper hand against their devastating attacks.
  2. Regular Enemies: For small enemies and mobs, dodging is usually a more efficient way to avoid their attacks. Attempting Perfect Guards against them can be risky, as you may get overwhelmed by multiple attackers.

How To Perform The Perfect Guard

Executing a Perfect Guard in Lies Of P can be challenging due to its tight timing. Here’s how to improve your chances:

  1. Learn Enemy Attack Patterns: Familiarize yourself with different enemy attack patterns. Each attack type may have a unique timing for a Perfect Guard.
  2. Practice and Patience: It’s normal to fail initially, but practice makes perfect. Wait until the last possible moment before initiating your guard to increase your chances of success.
  3. Different Timings: Recognize that enemies have varying attack wind-up times. Some attacks have longer wind-ups, while others are almost instantaneous. Adjust your timing accordingly.

How To Break Enemy Weapons

Breaking enemy weapons is an advanced tactic that can be useful in specific situations:

  1. Weapon-Dependent Enemies: Not all enemies have breakable weapons. Focus on breaking the weapons of foes where it’s most effective, such as mini-bosses.
  2. Full Combo Strategy: To break an enemy’s weapon, perform Perfect Guards consistently in a full combo. When the weapon starts flashing red, it’s close to breaking.
  3. Manage Stamina: Pay attention to your stamina bar; you need sufficient stamina to perform Perfect Guards and break an enemy’s weapon.

How To Inflict Groggy Status

Groggy Status is a unique mechanic that can help you deal significant damage to enemies:

  1. Prepare for Groggy Status: To inflict Groggy Status, you must first deal damage and perform successful Perfect Guards on an enemy.
  2. Charged Special Attack: Once the enemy becomes Groggy Available, use a charged special attack to make them Groggy. Ensure you have enough stamina to perform this attack.
  3. Timing Matters: Don’t wait too long after the enemy is Groggy; use a Fatal attack from the correct angle to maximize damage.

By mastering the Perfect Guard and understanding when to employ it, along with utilizing Groggy Status to your advantage, you can become a formidable force in Lies Of P’s challenging battles. Practice, patience, and precise timing will be your allies on this perilous journey.
