Bandai Namco Games has made an exciting announcement via the Japanese PlayStation Blog: the beloved Tekken Ball Mode, originally introduced in Tekken 3’s PSOne adaptation, is making a comeback in Tekken 8.

Tekken Ball Mode retains its familiar gameplay, with a significant visual upgrade compared to its appearance 25 years ago. In this minigame, players use their characters’ moves to strike a beach ball across the screen, aiming to knock it into their opponent’s side. The power of your attack determines the ball’s damage, increasing the chances of a K.O.

What sets this version of Tekken Ball apart is its online playability, allowing players to engage in beach ball-smashing battles against others, both online and offline.

While Tekken 3 originally introduced Tekken Ball Mode alongside Tekken Force Mode, it has taken until now for its return. This announcement comes as part of the Tekken 8 development team’s efforts to provide a comprehensive gaming experience, including features like Story Mode, Tekken Fight Lounge, Online Ranked Matches, and Customization. With all these additions, fans are eager to discover what else the game has in store.
