Nintendo has announced the addition of “Kirby & the Amazing Mirror” to its Nintendo Switch Online service, set to be available on September 29 for Expansion Pack subscribers. This 2004 Game Boy Advance title offers a unique twist to the traditional Kirby games by introducing a Metroidvania-style gameplay approach. In the game, players control Kirby, who has been split into four versions of himself, as they navigate a Mirror World to locate Dark Meta Knight and thwart his efforts to corrupt the Mirror World.

Unlike previous linear Kirby titles, “Kirby & the Amazing Mirror” allows players to freely explore the game world, gain new abilities, and access previously locked areas. Originally, the GBA release supported up to four-player co-op through a local connection. The Switch Online version will continue this feature, supporting both local and online multiplayer for up to four players.
This addition expands the Nintendo Switch Online Game Boy Advance library to a total of 12 games, including beloved titles like “Fire Emblem,” “The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap,” and “Super Mario Advance” series entries. Nintendo has also confirmed that games such as “F-Zero: Maximum Velocity” and “Golden Sun” will join the library at a later date.
To access Game Boy Advance games, as well as titles from the Mega Drive / Genesis and Nintendo 64 systems, players will need to subscribe to the Switch Online + Expansion Pack service, which costs $49.99 / £34.99 / €39.99 annually. This enhanced subscription provides access to a wider selection of classic titles, complementing the standard Switch Online subscription’s offerings of NES, SNES, Game Boy, and Game Boy Color games.
