In the mystical world of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, avid explorers have discovered a hidden secret that makes the perilous journey into The Depths a bit more manageable. Players embarking on the quest to collect all 120 Lightroots in the game are rewarded with the coveted Dispelling Darkness Medal, a prize that proves to be far more valuable than initially anticipated.

Each Lightroot not only illuminates its immediate vicinity but also marks the location of an underground shrine directly beneath it. Upon collecting all Lightroots, players find the Dispelling Darkness Medal in their inventory, described as an item that “commemorates blessings received.”

However, this medal holds a remarkable surprise – it brings faint ambient light to The Depths, drastically improving visibility in all directions. Previously obscured pockets of the underground map are now bathed in a soft glow, eliminating the need for items like Brightbloom Seeds to light the way. This revelation has delighted many players, prompting renewed interest in achieving 100% completion by exploring The Depths thoroughly.

While fans may hope for additional incentives, Eiji Aonuma, the series’ producer, has indicated that there are currently no plans for DLC in Tears of the Kingdom. Regardless, this newfound revelation adds a layer of intrigue to the game’s underground exploration, enticing players to venture deeper into the shadows for hidden treasures and adventure.
