“Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” is being marketed as a PlayStation 5 exclusive, meaning it won’t be available on PlayStation 4 or PC upon its initial release. This signals Sony’s commitment to promoting the current-generation PS5 console. However, the trend of Sony eventually porting its exclusive titles to PC may continue with this game, as seen with “Spider-Man: Miles Morales” and other titles.

Historically, there has been a time gap between the PlayStation and PC releases of these games. For instance, “Miles Morales” launched on PlayStation in November 2020 and made its way to Steam in November 2022, marking a two-year span. This suggests that while “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” is exclusive to the PS5 initially, a PC release might be in the cards, although it could take some time.

Sony has recognized the potential of the PC gaming market, especially given the substantial revenue generated by previous PC ports like “The Last of Us Part 1,” which earned a remarkable $15 million since its PC debut in February. Therefore, while PC gamers may need to exercise patience, it’s possible they will eventually get to enjoy the game on their platform of choice.
