Early access to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3’s beta has revealed an unfortunate trend of hackers infiltrating the game. The beta, which began on October 6, 2023, for pre-order customers and October 8 for the general player base, is currently exclusive to PlayStation. However, this hasn’t deterred cheaters from spoiling the experience for others.

Examples of cheating and exploiting glitches have surfaced on forums, demonstrating problems like wall glitches allowing players to shoot through the ground. Other players have encountered adversaries with superhuman accuracy and the ability to see through walls, showcasing the extent of cheating in the beta.

Though cheating on PlayStation consoles is known to be challenging, some have managed it, even on PlayStation 5. The culprits are suspected to be individuals with jailbroken PlayStation 4 consoles. The existence of cheaters during the beta, especially on next-gen consoles, is surprising and disheartening.

While Activision’s RICOCHET Anti-Cheat system is expected to mitigate cheating issues, previous Call of Duty titles have shown that no anti-cheat system is foolproof. As the beta expands to PC and Xbox starting on October 12, the community and developers are eagerly anticipating measures to address these challenges, considering this is only the beta phase.

Players are hopeful that Activision and Infinity Ward will act promptly to deter cheaters and address glitches before the full game release, ensuring a fair and enjoyable gaming experience.
