A significant alteration in the latest Modern Warfare 3 update improves the Ghost perk, benefiting stealth play without penalizing aggression.

The latest update in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 brings a pivotal change to the renowned Ghost perk, significantly impacting gameplay dynamics. Players now have an extended window of opportunity to maintain stealth against enemy UAVs without the necessity of constant movement.
In the expansive Call of Duty perk system, few abilities rival the enduring popularity of Ghost. Renowned for keeping players hidden from enemy UAVs, the perk’s mechanics have often required movement to remain active, aimed at deterring camping behavior. Modern Warfare 3 has now adjusted this aspect, addressing user complaints about the original Ghost perk’s restrictions, which penalized both campers and aggressive players momentarily standing still or engaging in slight movements.
The latest update, effective since December 14, offers Ghost users a two-second grace period to remain stationary without triggering the perk’s loss of its UAV-blocking capabilities. This balanced adjustment encourages movement while retaining the perk’s core function. Previously a widely used perk, Ghost is likely to become even more popular after this update.

Also introduced several other adjustments. It brought score-limit modifications in Team Deathmatch and Kill Confirmed on smaller maps, addressed a Ray Gun exploit in multiplayer, and fixed issues related to the breacher drone. Additionally, Warzone saw the rebalancing of 11 guns in the battle royale mode.
Earlier, the Season 1 update in Modern Warfare 3 debuted three new maps—Meat, Rio, and Training Facility for 6v6 and 2v2 matches. The return of the beloved Gunfight mode from previous Modern Warfare iterations in the Season 1 update reintroduced an array of 2v2 maps. Prior to this update, Modern Warfare 3 predominantly featured maps from its 2009 predecessor, Modern Warfare 2.
Looking ahead in Season 1, the game will witness further additions, including Ranked Play, the new Vortex mode, Team Gunfight, Infected, and more. While it might not have matched the sales of its predecessor, Modern Warfare 3 continues to receive substantial content updates, ensuring an engaging experience for players until the next installment in the Call of Duty series arrives.
