A detailed breakdown of Ruan Mei’s skills and animations in Honkai: Star Rail, offering players a sneak peek into the upcoming character’s capabilities.

Honkai: Star Rail has lifted the curtain on Ruan Mei’s skill set and combat animations, giving players a glimpse into the abilities of this five-star Ice Harmony character. In version 1.6 on December 27, Ruan Mei debuts in an event banner with the free-to-claim Dr. Ratio.
In Honkai: Star Rail, the banner system, reminiscent of Genshin Impact’s Wanderlust Invocation, allows players to acquire new characters and Light Cones by spending Stellar Jades. While the permanent banner gradually increases the chances of obtaining a five-star unit or weapon, players may occasionally find themselves without the desired characters. Additionally, special warp events boost the drop rate of specific top-tier units for a limited time.
Ruan Mei’s kit in Honkai: Star Rail positions her as a support unit focused on enhancing allies’ speed and resistance. With energy regeneration at the start of each turn, she inflicts Ice damage on single targets using her signature weapon. “Silken Serenade,” Ruan Mei’s technique, triggers “String Sings Slow Swirls” at combat start without consuming points.

Ruan Mei’s Kit:
- Technique: Silken Serenade
- Basic ATK: Threading Fragrance
- Talent: Somatotypical Helix
- Skill: String Sings Slow Swirls
- Combat Type: Ice
- Path: Harmony
Ruan Mei’s base skill temporarily boosts the party’s damage and Weakness Break Efficiency for a specific duration. Her ultimate ability boosts resistance and penetration for the entire party, enabling allies to inflict “Thanatoplum Rebloom” on enemies. This combat effect delays enemy actions and deals break damage. Judging by her skill set, Ruan Mei is poised to become a top-tier support unit in Honkai: Star Rail.
Alongside new characters, version 1.6 of Honkai: Star Rail includes several rerun banners, featuring Nihility-based Kafka and others. Anticipated to be popular, especially since only two units, Seele and Silver Wolf, have received reruns since launch. Leaks also suggest that the second half of version 1.6 will introduce Sushang and Hook to the event warp, providing Trailblazers with additional opportunities to obtain these characters.
