Overview of the Chinook Power Assault Rifle
In Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, the Chinook stands out as an Iconic variant of the Tsunami Kyubi. Unlike its name, which suggests calmness, this assault rifle is anything but gentle. It boasts an Iconic mod that enhances movement speed with kills and dismemberments and offers increased armor penetration. The unique aspect of the Chinook is its ability to increase damage output based on your movement speed, maintaining all bonuses as long as you switch between weapons in the Barghest series.

This Kyubi variant features an iconic modifier that boosts Movement Speed by 4% for 6 seconds after each kill or dismemberment, stacking up to 5 times for a maximum of 20% increased speed. Additionally, the faster you move, the more damage you inflict – up to a 25% increase. All BARGHEST family weapons receive a 25% boost in Armor Penetration.
Acquiring the Chinook: Prime Gaming and In-Game Methods
For Prime Gaming subscribers, acquiring the Chinook is straightforward but time-sensitive. As an Amazon Prime member, you can claim the “Chinook (Iconic Kyubi)” reward on the Prime Gaming website until January 24th, 2024. Once claimed, the weapon will automatically appear in your stash in Cyberpunk 2077.
Alternatively, the Chinook can be located through Airdrops scattered across Night City, identifiable by a blue circle on the map. To access these Airdrops, you’ll need the Tech perk “Cyberpunk Master.” Bear in mind, this method is less reliable compared to the Prime Gaming route.
Is the Chinook Worth It?
For players who enjoy a dynamic run-and-gun playstyle, the Chinook is an excellent choice. It’s particularly effective for those aiming to create a Barghest weapon setup, where multiple Barghest weapons are used in tandem to mutually enhance their capabilities.
