The current Pokemon Go event introduces the Six-Star Raids, offering trainers the chance to engage in more challenging battles with raids ranging from 3-Star Mega to 6-Star Raids. These higher-level raids provide opportunities to capture legendary and formidable Pokemon. Notably, Mega versions of Latios and Latias, the Eon Duo Legendaries from Gen 3’s Hoenn region, are making a return in these raids. Here’s a comprehensive guide on everything you need to know about participating in these high-level raids during the ongoing Pokemon Go Tour 2024 event.

Event Duration:

The Pokemon Go Six-Star raids are a highlight of the ongoing Pokemon Go Tour 2024 event, commencing on January 31, 2024, and concluding on February 15, 2024. Mega Latios and Mega Latias will be featured in the 5-Star Raid Battles, including Mega Raids. Specifically, Mega Latias will make a special appearance during the Raid Hour on February 7, 2024, from 6 pm to 7 pm local time. It’s important to note that not all raids during the event will be mega raids; many will be five-star raids.

Facing Mega Latias in Raids:

Mega Latios and Mega Latias are Dragon/Psychic-type Pokemon with vulnerabilities to Bug, Dark, Dragon, Fairy, Ghost, and Ice-type attacks. To maximize your effectiveness, avoid using Fighting, Electric, Water, Psychic, and Grass-type attacks as they won’t deal significant damage. Prepare a team of your strongest Pokemon, considering the boss’s weaknesses. Suitable choices include Mega Gardevoir, Mega Salamence, Mega Gengar, and other Dragon-types with Dragon-type attacks. Additionally, strong Dark, Fairy, and Ghost-type Pokemon can counter Latias effectively.

Team Coordination:

Trainers can collaborate with others to tackle these challenging raids. Upon defeating the raid boss, participants have the opportunity to encounter and catch it again. Notably, there are Shiny variants of Mega Latias to add an extra layer of excitement to the encounters.

Obtaining Raid Passes:

To participate in a Raid Battle, trainers need Raid Passes. Obtain one Raid Pass daily by spinning the Photo Disc in any Gym. If you run out, Raid Passes can be purchased from the Shop, including Premium Raid Passes for a more enhanced experience. Remote Raid Passes are also available for purchase in the Shop or occasionally given as freebies, allowing trainers to join Raid Battles that are nearby and visible on the Map View.
