Monogatari Off and Monster Season Release New Wazamonogatari Trailer

Aniplex has unveiled a new trailer for Wazamonogatari, the upcoming arc in the Monogatari Off and Monster Season anime series. This arc follows the events of Episode 6.5, “A Cruel Fairy Tale: The Beautiful Princess,” and is set to premiere on August 24 JST. The trailer showcases Maya Sakamoto’s character, Acerola, and introduces a mysterious vampire she encounters. The preview highlights vibrant warm colors and grand, majestic scenery, setting a distinct tone from previous arcs like Orokamonogatari and Nademonogatari.

Monogatari Off and Monster Season is the latest chapter in the Monogatari series, which adapts Nisio Isin’s supernatural light novels. The series is divided into the Off-Season (2015-2017) and Monster Season (2017-2021). The Off-Season includes Orokamonogatari, Wazamonogatari, Nademonogatari, and Musubimonogatari, while the Monster Season features Shinobumonogatari, Yoimonogatari, Amarimonogatari, Ougimonogatari, and Shimonogatari Parts 1 and 2.

The original Monogatari series began with Bakemonogatari in 2006, with the anime adaptation airing in 2009 and directed by Tatsuya Oishi. The series is known for its blend of supernatural elements and deep psychological insights, mixed with irreverent humor.
