The first of the two final Haikyu!! anime movies, Haikyu: The Dumpster Battle, is set to debut on an OTT platform this October. This film, which wraps up the thrilling sports franchise, premiered in Japanese theaters in February 2024 and later released in other countries. It has already exceeded the $100 million mark at the global box office and is poised to achieve even more success on streaming.

According to an announcement from the official Netflix Anime page on October 17 (IST), the movie will be available on Netflix for Asian audiences starting Thursday, October 31. However, it’s still unclear which specific countries will have access to the film by the end of the month.
Netflix describes the film as follows: “As the Karasuno team takes on Nekoma High in the third round of the national championships, Hinata faces his rival Kenma with everything on the line!”
Based on Haruichi Furudate’s acclaimed manga series, The Dumpster Battle serves as a direct sequel to the fourth season of the TV anime adaptation. Distributed by Toho in Japan, the highly anticipated premiere reached US theaters on May 30, facilitated by Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures. Indian audiences had their turn the following day.
Stay tuned for more updates about the Haikyu OTT premiere. In the meantime, check out other anime shows on Netflix, such as the Ranma ½ reboot, Dan Da Dan, Blue Box, and Dragon Ball DAIMA.
