Immortals of Aveum, a single-player magic shooter developed by Ascendant Studios and EA, has recently been released, and the reviews have been mediocre at best. However, when it comes to the game’s technical performance, the situation is not particularly positive.
In order to utilize next-gen Unreal Engine 5 features like Nanite micro-geometry and ray-traced Lumen lighting, Immortals of Aveum makes significant sacrifices in terms of resolution, according to a technical analysis by Digital Foundry.

Specifically, the game runs at a base resolution of 720p on the PS5 and Xbox Series X, which is then upscaled to 4K using AMD’s FSR2 technology. On the other hand, the base resolution on the Xbox Series S is notably lower at 768×436. Consequently, all platforms experience a decrease in visual quality, with the Xbox Series S exhibiting the most noticeable impact.

Furthermore, Immortals of Aveum seems to be encountering performance issues. Even though it targets 60 FPS on all platforms during intense scenarios like frenetic firefights or boss encounters, the game’s frame rate can drop to the 50s, 40s, and even the 30s when played on an Xbox Series S.
Immortals of Aveum is available to play on the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
