The release of Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, which was planned to happen next month, has been postponed until at least the summer of 2024.

We still don’t know when Dragon Age: Dreadwolf will be released, despite the fact that it has been in development for a while. When it comes to a release date, there have been no announcements from BioWare despite leaks, trailers, and a few official blog entries. However, this may soon change because, according to a source close to the business, BioWare and EA are hoping to release the game no later than the summer of 2024.
According to trustworthy insider Jeff Grubb, who discussed the recent layoffs at BioWare—which affected around a fifth of the company’s workforce—on the most recent Game Mess Mornings episode. According to Grubb, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf’s internal release date was first scheduled for September at some time before being postponed until March 2024. Grubb currently asserts that Dreadwolf’s internal release window now is Summer 2024 and that this date has been postponed yet another time.
At this time, “it isn’t coming out until the summer of 2024 at the earliest, and this is not them talking publicly,” says Grubb. “This is only based on my reporting, so if it changes, don’t be surprised in the slightest, as I believe it will probably be pushed back much further. I anticipate that this game will debut probably toward the end of next year.

Of course, these recent layoffs could have potentially affected things at BioWare, and it sounds like Grubb is pretty confident that date is going to be changed yet again. Fifty workers is a lot of people to suddently lose, and as much as BioWare claims it won’t affect development, it’s difficult to imagine how it won’t.
If Dragon Age: Dreadwolf does stick to its vague release window of Summer 2024, then we can likely expect at least a release window at this year’s Game Awards showcase. The first trailer for the title was shown off at The Game Awards 2020, back when it was just titled Dragon Age 4, so it makes sense for the title to have a full blown gameplay/release window reveal there too. Like Grubb says, that isn’t set in stone, and it sounds like things are still up in the air at BioWare at the moment, but it’s nice to have at least a tentative date to stick in our calendars.
