Mortal Kombat 1 is set for release soon, with Premium Edition players gaining early access on September 14. Given the game’s history of leaks, it was almost inevitable that more information would surface ahead of the official launch.

Twitter user thetiny shared a screenshot, apparently from an early copy of Mortal Kombat 1 for the Nintendo Switch, which showcases the complete launch roster. Nitara, a character from Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, occupies the 24th and final slot. This has surprised many fans who expected characters like Jade or Sonya Blade to fill this slot. Nitara’s inclusion is noteworthy as she hasn’t appeared in a Mortal Kombat title since Armageddon, making her return a welcome surprise.

The leaked roster also hints that Havik may be the story mode unlock, akin to Frost in Mortal Kombat 11 and Shinnok in Mortal Kombat X. Besides Shang Tsung, who is a pre-order bonus, Havik is the only character on the roster with a lock symbol next to his name, suggesting that players will need to unlock him. The impact of this unlockable status on Havik’s role in the game’s story mode remains uncertain.

As Mortal Kombat 1’s release date draws near, fans are eagerly awaiting more information and an official confirmation of the leaked roster.
