Following the conclusion of the LEC (League of Legends European Championship) finals, the draw for the Play In stage of the 2023 World Championship has taken place. This significant event in the League of Legends esports calendar is just around the corner. Although not all participants have been determined yet, the draw was able to proceed, with the last participant set to be decided in a match between Team BDS and Golden Guardians on October 9, 2023.

The Play-In stage draw for the World Championship 2023 is as follows:

Bracket A:

  • Gigabyte Marines vs. LOUD
  • PSG Talon vs. Movistar R7

Bracket B:

  • Team BDS or Golden Guardians vs. Team Whales
  • CTBC Flying Oyster vs. Detonation FocusMe

Each match in the Play In stage will be played in a best-of-three format. Teams that lose their first match will be relegated to the lower bracket, and a second loss will result in their elimination from the tournament. Ultimately, winners from both the upper and lower brackets in Brackets A and B will face each other. The two surviving teams will advance to the World Championship Swiss round.
