GSC Game World, the development studio behind Stalker 2, has faced numerous challenges during the creation of the highly-anticipated game. This includes multiple postponements and the disruptive impact of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. While some team members remained in Ukraine to defend their country, others continued work from various European locations.

Unfortunately, the studio faced yet another setback as their Prague office recently suffered a fire. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, but substantial material losses amounting to approximately $75,000 were incurred. The incident was first reported by an anonymous source to the Czech outlet, Vortex, and later officially confirmed on GSC’s Discord server.

Despite these setbacks, the development team is determined to push forward and ensure that the fire does not hinder the progress of Stalker 2. They emphasize their resilience in the face of adversity, acknowledging the challenging circumstances in Ukraine.
Fans eagerly awaiting the game can take comfort in the studio’s commitment to delivering the long-awaited next installment in the Stalker series.
