Summary of “The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses” Review.

1. The anime’s plot tends to become repetitive during the middle episodes, affecting its overall engagement.
2. While the main characters are well-crafted and their interactions are captivating, the anime falls short in terms of well-developed side characters, which is a notable drawback.
3. The anime garners acclaim for its art style, animations, and soundtracks, contributing significantly to the overall enjoyment of the series.
I must admit, I found myself oddly drawn to this anime. It’s true; I have my fair share of grievances with it, and some of these issues are rather substantial. However, as a devoted rom-com enthusiast, I probably enjoyed “The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses” more than I’d care to admit. It was a rollercoaster ride, no doubt about it, with its fair share of ups and downs.

It’s a bit of a conundrum discussing such matters because, as a critic, it’s my duty to address the show’s flaws. Yet, as a fan, I can’t deny that I derived some genuine enjoyment from it. Undoubtedly, there were moments when the anime felt somewhat lackluster, but it also delivered some high points that I genuinely cherished.
So, welcome back to another one of my reviews, and let’s delve into all the details. Today, our focus is squarely on “The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses.” Let’s dive right in.
Storyline
Although the initial premise of the series carries a comedic charm, it quickly loses its freshness after the first few episodes. Subsequently, much of the following content tends to rehash prior events, resulting in a sense of repetition that persists throughout the middle section of the plot. It’s only in the later episodes that the series manages to rekindle its appeal by introducing some much-needed variety.
Beyond this issue of repetitiveness in the middle episodes, the plot adheres to a fairly standard rom-com formula, albeit with the unique twist of the titular glasses element. The show follows an episodic structure, lacking the sense of continuous storytelling that one might expect from this genre. In summary, it falls into the realm of being just okay – neither exceptionally good nor particularly bad.
Characters
The central pair in the series is impressively developed. Despite encountering certain repetitive scenarios, their interactions remain engaging and inject a sense of freshness into the narrative. However, amidst the praise for the main duo’s writing, a significant problem emerges in this aspect. The supporting characters are notably underdeveloped and essentially non-existent. The series could have greatly benefited from more robust, well-crafted side characters. These additional characters could have revitalized the dynamics and served as effective complements to the main duo, preventing the story from feeling as stagnant as it ultimately did.
Animation and Music
There’s nothing but commendation in this department. “The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses” boasts an excellent art style that is visually appealing, and the animations are notably impressive. The integration of CG is handled skilfully, with most instances seamlessly blending into the overall aesthetic.

In terms of sound, the series doesn’t disappoint either. The soundtracks, including both the opening and ending themes, are pleasing to the ear. Additionally, the background music (BGM) enhances the overall viewing experience, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the series.
Conclusion
- Plot – 7/10
- Characters – 7/10
- Animations – 9/10
- Soundtracks – 5/10
- Enjoyment – 8/10
- Please add good side characters – 10/10
- Overall – 7/10
This anime certainly has its flaws, but it’s far from being a bad one. I personally found it enjoyable despite its imperfections, and perhaps you will too.
Anyway, with that said, it’s time for me to say goodbye for now. See you later!
