“One Piece” is set in a captivating world where pirates and marines compete for control of the Blue Sea. The story revolves around Monkey D. Luffy, a young boy who gains an incredibly stretchy body after consuming the “Gum Gum” Devil Fruit. Luffy aspires to become the Pirate King and forms the Straw Hat Pirates.
The live-action adaptation’s first season achieved significant success, debuting at the top of Netflix’s weekly Top 10 list with 18.5 million views within its initial four days of availability.

A second season of “One Piece” presents a substantial opportunity for Tomorrow Studios, especially following the cancellation of their live-action adaptation of “Cowboy Bebop” in 2021. The success of “One Piece” could lead to a long-term collaboration with Netflix.

As they await Netflix’s official decision, the producers are focused on maintaining the initial viewership numbers and expanding the show’s appeal to non-fans and new audiences. Adelstein underscores the importance of family viewing and attracting viewers who may not have been previously acquainted with the “One Piece” franchise.
