While the highly anticipated “Assassin’s Creed Mirage” is set to release on October 5th, 2023, the release date for Code Red remains tentative, with a holiday 2024 window suggested. Code Red promises to transport players to feudal Japan, much like the popular title “Ghost of Tsushima.” Speculation suggests that players may control two protagonists: a male samurai and a female Shinobi. The male character, rumored to be based on the historical figure Yasuke, an African samurai in the Sengoku period, could have a familial connection to the female protagonist, mirroring the approach taken in “Assassin’s Creed Syndicate.”
While mirroring some classic Assassin’s Creed gameplay elements, Code Red is expected to evolve the series further, embracing open-world RPG design. Stealth elements inspired by Splinter Cell are anticipated, alongside improved graphics and destructible environments. The two protagonists may offer distinct gameplay styles, akin to previous titles, adding depth to the experience.
