With the launch of the Teal Mask DLC in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, the return of beloved Pokémon, Munchlax and Snorlax, has captured the excitement of fans. While Snorlax has been a fan favorite since its Gen 1 debut, its pre-evolution, Munchlax, entered the scene in Gen 4 and is renowned as one of the rarest Pokémon in the series.
For those eager to add Munchlax to their collection, there are two methods to obtain this elusive Pokémon. The first involves venturing into the wilderness, where players can encounter Munchlax and attempt to capture it with a trusty Pokéball.
Alternatively, players can head northeast to Mossui Town and visit Kitakami Hall. Here, they can engage in the in-game minigame known as “Ogre Oustin’.” Completing ten rounds of this game, particularly on hard mode, will reward players with a shiny Munchlax. This Munchlax will be at level 1 and comes equipped with two moves: Lick and Tackle.
To evolve Munchlax into the beloved Gen 1 Pokémon, Snorlax, players must foster a strong bond with it, as this evolution is tied to its Happiness/Friendship level. By prioritizing Munchlax in battles, raising its levels, using it frequently, and even taking it out for picnics, players can speed up the evolution process. Equipping Munchlax with the Soothe Bell item and using the Pokémon Wash feature can also help boost its friendship level. Once Munchlax’s happiness reaches its peak, it will evolve into Snorlax, ready to join your team as a formidable companion.
