IShowSpeed, a prominent YouTube streamer, expressed frustration during his first EA FC 24 stream when he opened Ultimate Team packs and discovered female players were now part of the game, seemingly unaware of this addition.
Although the official release date for EA FC 24 is September 22, content creators often receive early access to explore the game’s features. IShowSpeed, one of the platform’s prominent streamers, began his EA FC 24 stream on September 19, eager to delve into Ultimate Team’s new elements.
To his surprise, upon entering Ultimate Team, Speed received a female player in his squad, which left him visibly puzzled and frustrated. He questioned his viewers, asking if he was “tweaking” and if the player was a girl. This initial reaction was followed by him setting up his team, choosing jerseys, naming his club, and designing a club badge before opening Ultimate Team packs.

However, his frustration grew when he received another female player, Hannah Blundell from Manchester United. Speed’s reaction included exclamations like “What the f***!” and confusion, even misidentifying her as Christian Eriksen. He eventually acknowledged his mistake, stating that the player “must be new to the squad,” highlighting a potential lack of familiarity with the women’s squad of Manchester United.
EA had previously faced backlash when announcing the inclusion of female players in Ultimate Team, but the addition was described as a natural evolution to offer more diversity in player choices for squads.
This incident showcases the ongoing adjustments and adaptations in the gaming industry to promote inclusivity and reflect real-world sports more accurately.
