Capcom has rolled out a significant update for Resident Evil 4, encompassing all gaming platforms, to introduce the eagerly awaited “Separate Ways” DLC and several improvements. The update primarily focuses on the “Separate Ways” expansion, which stars fan-favorite character Ada Wong, offering players a fresh perspective on the game’s storyline. Ada Wong embarks on her own perilous journey through the events of Resident Evil 4, uncovering unanswered questions from the primary narrative.
Besides the DLC addition, the update includes unspecified bug fixes to enhance the overall gaming experience. Additionally, it expands “The Mercenaries” free mode by introducing new stages and characters. The official patch notes mention adjustments to scoring, item drops, and time bonus rates for existing characters to enhance gameplay balance.

This update follows the discovery of “Separate Ways” and The Mercenaries content by dataminers earlier this year, which were conspicuously absent at the game’s launch. Capcom formally announced the “Separate Ways” DLC during Sony’s State of Play event.

“Separate Ways” offers a deeper dive into Ada Wong’s mission as she seeks to retrieve the cult’s enigmatic secret, the Amber, adding layers of intrigue and suspense to Resident Evil 4’s storyline. Players can explore this new content and unlock more mysteries by experiencing the events from both Ada and Leon S. Kennedy’s perspectives.

This update enriches the Resident Evil 4 experience, providing fans with more thrilling gameplay and storytelling possibilities.
