Trainers, there’s significant news in the Pokémon GO community that everyone needs to be aware of. A player has recently faced a 30-day ban on both their Wayfarer and Pokémon GO accounts, and this development is tied to Niantic’s recent announcement outlining new criteria for Nominations and Wayspots.

In the world of gaming, rules are the foundation for fair competition, and Pokémon GO is no exception. The game has its own set of guidelines to maintain a level playing field. However, stepping beyond those boundaries can result in consequences, and this is where the Niantic Wayfarer ban comes into play, distinguishing itself with a unique four-strike policy, deviating from Pokémon GO’s standard three-strike system.

Within Pokémon GO’s robust penalty system, including Activity Warnings, 3rd Party Application Warnings, Softbans, Shadowbans, Temporary Bans, and Permanent Bans, the Wayfarer ban introduces a new layer of complexity. It operates on a four-strike basis, and it’s essential to note that any form of suspension leads to a lockout from all Niantic games, including Pokémon GO.

Accumulate four strikes, and you could face a 3650-day suspension. Therefore, if you’re unclear about the criteria for future Nominations or Wayspots, it’s crucial to familiarize yourself with them promptly.

Currently, one player has already faced a month-long ban, unable to access their Pokémon GO or Wayfarer accounts. Niantic Support, when asked, only revealed that the ban was imposed because the player submitted inappropriate images for existing Wayspots. The player claims they provided pictures solely of the requested items, without including anything else.

This situation has created unfortunate timing, especially with a Pokémon GO tournament scheduled for the player next month. Hopefully, a resolution will be reached in due course. However, it’s essential for Niantic to improve transparency regarding the reasons behind such bans, as knowledge could empower players to avoid future mistakes when submitting Nominations and Wayspots.
