The eagerly anticipated cooperative first-person shooter horror game “RIPOUT” is gearing up for its early access release on October 24, marking its debut on popular gaming platforms such as Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG. This exciting news was officially unveiled during the recent Realms Deep livestream, with the publishing support of 3D Realms.
Developed by Serbian indie studio Pet Project Games, “RIPOUT” is described as being in an “almost fully featured” state, with the early access phase serving as an opportunity to gather valuable feedback from the gaming community. Additionally, a console launch is in the pipeline for 2024.
In “RIPOUT,” players will find themselves navigating the eerie corridors of abandoned spaceships, where they will encounter a myriad of menacing “mutants.” Notably, the game boasts procedurally generated ships, promising virtually limitless replayability. Here’s a breakdown of the game’s key features:

- Cooperative Player-Versus-Enemy Gameplay: Embark on various missions and explore derelict ships either solo or in small teams.
- Diverse Range of Reconfigurable Monsters: Face off against genetically altered adversaries that have the ability to enhance and adapt themselves by attaching smaller mutants to their bodies, ensuring unpredictable encounters.
- Living Pet Gun: Defend yourself with the help of your loyal Pet Gun, harnessing the power of sentient biotech to combat your foes.
- Weapon Modifications and Character Classes: Personalize your weaponry and select from multiple character specializations to tailor your playstyle.
- Quick, Action-Packed Missions: Dive into countless derelict ships in short, 10–20-minute missions, bracing for the unexpected as you confront lurking horrors.

- Scalable Difficulty: “RIPOUT” offers a challenge suitable for teams of various sizes, thanks to its adaptable difficulty.
Players will embark on an extraordinary interstellar journey in pursuit of human survivors, with Sanctuary holding the key to their salvation. Yet, the whereabouts and nature of this sanctuary remain shrouded in mystery. Gamers can unravel the fate of humanity, either solo or with friends, in this cooperative science fiction first-person shooter that promises hours of immersive entertainment.
Notably, “RIPOUT” was among the first games to announce support for NVIDIA’s DLSS 3 technology, although it remains unclear if DLSS Frame Generation will be available right from the start of the early access phase. Further details on this aspect are expected as the launch date approaches.
