“My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!” has had a successful run in the world of anime. The first season premiered in April 2020, and Crunchyroll streamed it both in Japanese and with an English dub. The second season, titled “My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! X,” followed in July 2021, and Crunchyroll continued to provide streaming services for both the Japanese and English versions. Furthermore, Crunchyroll has also been streaming an original video anime within the same franchise.

For those interested in exploring the story beyond the screen, J-Novel Club is digitally publishing the light novels in English. The series revolves around Katarina Claes, who, after a head injury, recalls memories of her past life as a Japanese teenage girl. She realizes she’s become the antagonist of an otome game and that her character is destined for a bad ending. To avoid her doom, Katarina must use her knowledge of the game and her wit to navigate a world where bad flags seem to trip her up at every turn.

Satoru Yamaguchi began the original novel series on the “Shōsetsuka ni Narō!” website in July 2014. Ichijinsha began publishing the novels, featuring illustrations by Nami Hidaka, in August 2015. Hidaka also provides the artwork for the ongoing manga adaptation, which debuted in Ichijinsha’s “Comic Zero Sum” magazine in August 2017. For English-speaking audiences, Seven Seas Entertainment is releasing the manga.

As fans eagerly await the release of the “My Next Life as a Villainess” movie, this captivating tale of reincarnation, romance, and hijinks continues to enchant viewers and readers alike.

Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting anime movie adaptation!
