Sony has unveiled the upcoming release of a ‘regular’ new PS5 Spider-Man 2 bundle, set to coincide with the game’s launch later this month.
The announcement of this new bundle was made via Sony’s official PlayStation Twitter account. According to the tweet, “The New PlayStation 5 Console – Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Bundle will be available starting Oct 20“. This bundle includes a copy of the game, a PS5 disc-version console, and a standard white DualSense controller.
It’s important to note that this is a separate bundle from the previously revealed limited edition bundle, which features a black-and-red PlayStation 5 console adorned with the Spider symbol and Venom-inspired tendrils. The limited edition bundle also includes a new red-and-black DualSense controller and a digital copy of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
For those looking to customize their PS5, Sony is also offering Spider-Man 2 PS5 faceplates separately. Furthermore, the Spider-Man 2 Limited Edition DualSense controller is available for purchase individually, allowing fans to create their own customized PS5 Spider-Man 2 ‘limited’ bundle if they missed out on the official limited edition console.
While specific pricing details were not provided, recent PS5 bundles have typically been priced at $499.99.
Spider-Man 2, the highly anticipated sequel to Insomniac’s 2018 Spider-Man game for PlayStation 4, is set to launch later this month on October 20. Insomniac and Sony are building anticipation by revealing exclusive in-game suits during New York Comic Con on October 12. The game is expected to deliver a somewhat darker narrative compared to its predecessor, drawing comparisons to Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Marvel Games Vice President Bill Rosemann has described it as “everything you love, but more” and hinted at a darker tone in the sequel.
