Thanks to the lightning-fast SSD of the PlayStation 5, the need for fast travel around New York and Brooklyn in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 might be less pressing. With the introduction of the dual protagonist system, players can seamlessly switch between Peter and Miles on the fly, making the transition between the two superheroes effortless.

Efficient Travel Across Boroughs:
As players progress through the game’s later chapters and unlock various side missions and collectibles, these tasks will scatter across the map, encompassing every borough of New York City. While swinging across the city to collect a stray spider-bot is undoubtedly an option, leveraging fast travel can prove to be a smarter and more efficient approach to fighting crime.
Dynamic Fast Travel System:
The fast travel system in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 operates more dynamically compared to its predecessor. Once a location is selected from the map menu, Peter Parker swiftly glides or zips to the chosen spot, ensuring minimal downtime before resuming action. The process, taking less than two seconds, allows players to seamlessly transition from selection to web-slinging.
Unlocking fast travel in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is not immediately available in all districts of New York City. Players must unlock it separately for each district as part of the pursuit for complete district completion. This entails filling the reputation gauge of each borough, achieved by engaging in various collectibles and tracked side missions.
The map automatically marks most side activities, and some, like Mysterio’s Mysteriums or Prowler Stashes, are easily visible from a distance through their distinct digital beacons. The collection of Spider-Bots or tech part stashes, however, only becomes visible when players approach closely.
With nearly instant fast travel on the PlayStation 5, players can effortlessly traverse the city in no time, making quick visits to various locations and landmarks a seamless experience. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s enhanced fast travel system adds to the game’s convenience, encouraging players to actively engage in neighborhood activities before enjoying its benefits.
