In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the iconic Master Sword, a legendary weapon, plays a significant role. Players may be concerned about its durability since other weapons in the game can break. However, there’s good news – the Master Sword does not break like conventional weapons. Instead, it operates differently due to its unique nature.

While using the Master Sword to defeat foes, it gradually loses energy rather than durability. When it’s running low on energy, a message appears, signaling that “The Master Sword is running low on energy.” After a few more swings, the Master Sword becomes temporarily unusable, although it doesn’t disappear from Link’s inventory. On the weapons tab, it appears faded out with a cooldown timer.

It takes approximately 10 minutes for the Master Sword to fully recharge and become usable again. Once it’s ready, a message informs the player. The Master Sword can also be temporarily enhanced by fusing it with other materials, which boosts its attack power. However, these enhancements are temporary and will be lost when the sword runs out of energy. Players should save powerful enhancements for challenging boss battles.

This unique mechanic ensures that while the Master Sword doesn’t break, players still need to manage its energy and plan their battles accordingly.
