In Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, a player’s creative Zonai machine spectacularly backfires, leading to hilariously unexpected results.

One ambitious Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom player recently faced a humorous setback when their elaborate Zonai machine failed to hit its target. The game’s introduction of build mechanics has inspired players to craft a variety of contraptions since its May 2023 release.
In the early days of Link’s newest adventure, some players devised whimsical contraptions that inadvertently caused misfortune to the lovable Koroks found in Hyrule. Over time, the community’s creations have become increasingly inventive, including the construction of towering aquatic vehicles for navigating the expansive Tears of the Kingdom world. However, as a recent video demonstrates, not all contraptions function as intended.
Reddit user Jogswyer1 set out to assemble a Zonai machine in Tears of the Kingdom, combining rockets and time bombs with the goal of eliminating a camp of unsuspecting Bokoblins. In a video shared on the r/HyruleEngineering subreddit, the player showcases Link activating the contraption, leading to unexpected chaos. The weapon veers off course, breaks apart, and its components scatter in all directions, leaving the enemies surprisingly unharmed, albeit slightly puzzled.
Despite the Zonai machine’s initial failure, Jogswyer1 remains undaunted and makes a second attempt with similar results. The video’s comments applaud the player’s creative effort and acknowledge that not everything in Tears of the Kingdom proceeds according to plan. Some gamers also offer advice on how to enhance the mobile bombing machine’s effectiveness, including the humorous idea of attaching a Korok.
Although the featured weapon may not have delivered the expected outcome, players continue to explore inventive ways to construct machines that aid them in their battles. Notably, one player recently devised a clever weapon for confronting one of Tears of the Kingdom’s more challenging bosses, utilizing a spinning wheel topped with a hydrant to keep Mucktorock’s hazardous sludge at bay while attacking the elusive foe.
Players relish the freedom to create diverse contraptions in Hyrule, even if their experiments sometimes yield unexpected and amusing results. While there are no current plans for Tears of the Kingdom DLC, Nintendo is actively preparing for the next chapter in The Legend of Zelda franchise.
