After extensive gameplay, a dedicated Cyberpunk 2077 player shares a method to bypass attribute checks by enlisting enemies to unlock locked doors in Night City.

In a surprising revelation, a dedicated Cyberpunk 2077 player has unveiled a clever method for gaining access to locked doors without needing to pass challenging attribute checks. With over 150 hours of gameplay under their belt, the player’s discovery presents an alternative approach to navigating the challenges posed by locked doors in the bustling streets of Night City.
Within CD Projekt Red’s renowned RPG, Cyberpunk 2077, locked doors present three primary challenges. Some doors can be forced open, contingent on passing Body or Technical Ability checks. Others require a skilled hacker to access a nearby console or access point, directly tied to the Intelligence attribute and its related skill tree. However, a third type of locked door hinges on a less conventional solution.
The ingenious technique recently unearthed by Reddit user skama16 capitalizes on the fact that enemies in the game can traverse various environments, including passing through locked doors. This method can potentially bypass the need for Cyberpunk 2077’s challenging attribute checks.
To successfully employ this trick, players must lure a nearby enemy close to a locked door. Once an adversary is in close proximity, players can discreetly grab them and release them in front of the locked door. It’s essential to invest in the Body attribute, as it directly affects the duration of chokeholds when repositioning enemies. Additionally, players should scan characters to ensure they don’t possess abilities that allow them to break free from a grab. Formidable opponents marked with red skulls above their heads will automatically break free.
One crucial point to remember is that players should exit the room before the door closes, to avoid getting trapped inside. As showcased in a brief video demonstration shared by skama16 on social media, the player expertly maneuvers around a lone enemy, utilizing them to access a room containing four Legendary items and over 4,400 credits. The player emphasized the importance of acting swiftly, cautioning, “Make sure you exit the room before the door closes, or else you get stuck inside.”
While some players had previously discovered this technique, its value has significantly increased in light of Cyberpunk 2077’s substantial 2.0 update. This update introduced changes to attribute checks, scaling them with the player’s level, making these checks notably more challenging. Consequently, this newfound method to bypass locked doors without attribute checks has garnered renewed attention and acclaim within the Cyberpunk 2077 community.
