With the ongoing Dragonflight expansion and BlizzCon on the horizon, WoW enthusiasts have been theorizing the theme of the upcoming expansion. The notion of a seafaring expansion gained traction, buoyed by in-game references to lost continents and pirate fleets. Notable WoW content creator Mr. Dave voiced opinions on the theory, and Ybarra contributed two words in a social media discussion, seemingly refuting the pirate-centric expansion: “No pirates.”
However, players remain skeptical of Ybarra’s statement, given past instances where WoW developers used misleading remarks to conceal or tease upcoming content. While some accept the statement at face value, others highlight that the absence of pirates doesn’t exclude the possibility of a seafaring storyline or a pirate character appearing in the future expansion.
