Netflix has unveiled the streaming release date for the anime adaptation of Nakaba Suzuki’s manga, “The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse” (Mokushiroku no Yon-kishi), set to be available on January 31. The announcement came through a new trailer released on Sunday.
The anime premiered in Japan on October 8 and holds a unique scheduling approach, running continuously for half a year without breaks. It had its premiere screening at Anime NYC on Sunday, marking an exciting anticipation for fans.
Directed by Maki Odaira, known for their work on “Pokémon Journeys: The Series,” the series is produced by Telecom Animation Film. Shigeru Murakoshi, the creative mind behind “I’m Quitting Heroing” and “Zombie Land Saga,” is overseeing and writing the series scripts. Youichi Takada, key animator for “Lupin the Third: Part 5” and “Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood,” is responsible for character design. The main theme is a collaboration between Hiroyuki Sawano and Kohta Yamamoto, with Yamamoto also serving as the music composer. Production and planning are handled by UNLIMITED PRODUCE by TMS.
The opening theme, “Up to Me!,” is performed by Little Glee Monster, while Moonchild contributes the ending theme, “Friends Are For.”
Nakaba Suzuki initiated the manga in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in January 2021, and Kodansha USA Publishing has been releasing the manga in English, both digitally and in physical copies. The story revolves around Percival, whose tranquil life on God’s Finger is disrupted when an intruder, with a shocking connection, destroys everything he knows. Seeking revenge, Percival embarks on a journey, encountering friends and unraveling the mysteries of his destiny, intricately connected to the end of the world. The manga recently concluded its first part.
