BlizzCon 2023 unveiled exciting details about Overwatch 2, showcasing the upcoming Damage hero, Venture. While Venture won’t be playable until Season 10, the early glimpse suggests they could be a game-changing addition to the hero shooter.

The BlizzCon 2023 Overwatch 2 Deep Dive shared insights into the game’s future, featuring themes like Egyptian Mythology in Battle Pass and the return of Hanamura through the Clash game mode. Alongside Mauga’s origin story and gameplay trailer, Blizzard teased the next two heroes, with Venture being more advanced in development.
Scheduled for release in Season 10, Venture, the first Damage hero since Sojourn, is confirmed as Overwatch 2’s first non-binary hero. Sporting a distinctive trench coat and noticeable tattoos on their neck, Venture wields a drill as their primary weapon, launching disk-like projectiles. In a brief gameplay snippet, Venture’s drill showcases unique capabilities, including a melee attack for mobility and the ability to burrow under the map, becoming temporarily invulnerable. This strategic maneuver allows for flanking or a quick escape.
BlizzCon 2023 also unveiled concept art offering a closer look at Venture’s design, featuring yellow goggles, a yellow shirt, and a baggy coat. The release of Overwatch 2 Season 10, expected around May 2024, will likely introduce players to the game-changing hero. A trial period similar to Mauga’s may offer players an earlier opportunity to experience Venture’s unique playstyle.
