Release Date: January 19, 2024
The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered introduces a novel roguelike survival mode, “No Return,” featuring unlockable characters, some of which have never been play able in previous Last of Us games. Alongside this, players can explore lost levels, providing a glimpse into early-development versions of unreleased stages. The announcement trailer shared on social media by Naughty Dog showcases these exciting additions.
Despite the leaks stirring anticipation, the remaster raises questions about franchise fatigue, considering The Last of Us Part 1 has seen multiple re-releases. The decision to remaster a three-year-old game might be viewed by some as a straight forward cash grab. However, examples like Skyrim demonstrate that relentless re-releases don’t necessarily diminish the anticipation for future installments in a beloved series.
