The “Whisper Me a Love Song” anime, adapting Eku Takeshima’s yuri manga, is witnessing significant changes. The recent full promo release not only disclosed fresh details but also announced a shift in leadership, resulting in the series’ release being moved from January to April 2024.
Akira Mano, renowned for “Ghost Hunt,” assumes the role of the new director, succeeding Xin Ya Cai. Notably, Cloud Hearts, initially credited for animation production alongside Yokohama Animation Lab, now shares animation production credits with both entities. The revamped team includes Soshi Kuwashima as art director, Keiichi Eda as CG director, and sound directors Fumiyuki Go and Nozomi Nakatani.
In the collaborative effort of CLOUDHEARTS and Yokohama Animation Lab, “Whisper Me a Love Song” boasts Hiroki Uchida’s series composition. Hana Shimano and Asami Seto lead the cast as Himari Kino and Yori Asanagi, respectively.
Kodansha USA handles the English publication of the manga, offering the following description:
Himari, a vibrant first-year high school student, falls deeply for her senpai Yori after hearing her band perform on the first day of school. To her surprise, Yori reciprocates Himari’s love confession! However, as Himari realizes they might be experiencing different kinds of love, she starts questioning the true meaning of “love.”
