Xbox Enforces Content Policies by Banning Baldur’s Gate 3 Players for Capturing Explicit Scenes

To prevent automatic uploading, players can adjust their settings by going to “Profile & System”, selecting “Preferences”, and then “Capture & Share”. Here, the “Automatically Upload” option can be set to “Don’t Upload”.
The situation gained attention when developer Larian Studios addressed the issue with Microsoft, expressing frustration over the bans. After discussions, it became clear that players must refrain from uploading such content because the existing policies will not undergo any amendments.
Contrary to some beliefs, Microsoft clarified that an automated system isn’t responsible for flagging and banning players. Instead, a moderator reviews each uploaded clip and takes appropriate action if it breaches policies.
Eurogamer reports that Microsoft is open to revising wrongful bans, advising players to disable auto-upload to avoid future suspensions. Players wanting to capture particular moments in Baldur’s Gate 3 should find alternative ways to transfer these from their console.
In the case of suspensions made in error, particularly for first offenses, Microsoft’s team is ready to review and potentially reverse these decisions, while informing players on how to avert such issues in the future.
Additionally, a console firmware problem has caused Xbox users to lose their save files in Baldur’s Gate 3. To protect their progress, players should create a Larian account and enable cross-platform saves. This step is beneficial even for those who play on a single platform.
