Call of Duty Warzone Season 1 Reloaded, launched on January 17, 2024, introduced several new features, including the Champion’s Quest, the Gulag Night Vision Public Event, and notably, the Covert Exfil. This feature, along with the single Weapon Case, quickly became the center of attention but was soon removed from the game. Here’s a detailed look at Covert Exfil in Warzone and the reasons behind its removal.

Understanding Covert Exfil in Warzone:
The Warzone Season 1 Reloaded update allowed players to exit matches early using Covert Exfil. This feature provided players with five opportunities per match to purchase from Buy Stations before the Gulag closed. Activating an exfil would summon a helicopter to evacuate you and your squad from the battlefield, ideally with a Weapon Case in tow.
The Weapon Case, introduced in the same update, would spawn in a specific search area at the beginning of each match. The player who found and held onto the Weapon Case became a target for all enemies. Successfully surviving until the end of the match or escaping via Covert Exfil with the case awarded the player and their teammates exclusive rewards.
Raven Software introduced a new Covert Exfil leaderboard to track and reward the most successful extractions. While a Covert Exfil didn’t count as a traditional victory but as a separate stat, it became a secondary win condition with its own leaderboard. The challenging and expensive nature of achieving a Covert Exfil led to its recommendation mainly as a strategy for players who couldn’t secure the Weapon Case during a match.
