Apple’s highly anticipated Vision Pro headset is priced at $3,499, offering a suite of features including a 4K display per eye. The tech giant has confirmed its availability in the US starting next month. Alongside this news, Apple revealed pricing details for accessories and prescription lenses, fueling excitement among potential buyers. Pre-orders start January 19 at 8 am ET, with availability set for February 2.
During the announcement, CEO Tim Cook highlighted the device’s importance in spatial computing, saying, “The time of spatial computing is here! Apple Vision Pro will be available in the US starting February 2.”
The Vision Pro operates on a dual-chip configuration, housing Apple’s M2 chip and the new R1 chip. Specifically designed to manage data from various sensors, cameras, and microphones, it offers seamless integration. Equipped with 256GB of storage, it comes with accessories like the Solo Knit Band, Dual Loop Band, and more. Notably, the device supports eye, head, and hand tracking, facilitating seamless navigation without a separate controller.
Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted the Vision Pro’s release in late January or early February, hailing it as Apple’s “most important product of 2024”. He estimates potential shipments of up to 500,000 units in 2024. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman previously reported on Apple Store retail employees under going training for an undisclosed product, aligning with reports on preparations for the high-end headset’s launch.
