Rock Is a Lady’s Modesty (Rokku wa Redi no Tashinami deshite) is an upcoming anime adaptation based on the manga by Hiroshi Fukuda. A new X (formerly Twitter) account has been launched for the series, featuring an illustration from the creator, but no official information about the cast or studio has been announced yet.
The manga began serialization in Hakusensha’s Seinen magazine, Young Animal, in 2022. As of February 2024, it has released four volumes, with the first volume debuting on April 28, 2023. The series has also received a recommendation from Aki Hamaji, the author of Bocchi the Rock!
The official X account for Hakusensha’s Young Animal Magazine confirmed that Rock Is a Lady’s Modesty will premiere in 2025. An illustration celebrating the adaptation was shared, and fans can expect further updates on the official account, @rocklady_info.
The story is set in an all-girls high school, focusing on Ririsa Suzunomiya, who loves guitar and rock music. After her mother remarries, she is pressured to abandon her dream of becoming a rock artist and conform to her new role as a wealthy young lady due to her stepfather’s influence as a real estate tycoon. However, her passion is reignited when she meets drummer Otoha Kurogane, and they secretly form a band to challenge societal expectations. While no specific plot details for the anime have been revealed, a similar storyline to the manga is anticipated. Stay tuned for more updates on Rock Is a Lady’s Modesty!
