After a two-year hiatus, the Hunter x Hunter manga will resume on September 4, 2024, as announced by its publisher, Shueisha. The manga, which follows Gon Freecss on his quest to become a Hunter and find his father, will continue with Volume 38. This new installment will include chapters 391-400 and continue the Succession Contest Arc, where fourteen princes of the Kakin Empire battle for the throne while aboard the ship Black Whale heading to the Dark Continent.

Kurapika, one of Gon’s friends, remains central to the story as he protects Queen Oito Hui Guo Rou while seeking revenge for his clan. Yoshihiro Togashi, the mangaka, paused the series due to health issues but kept fans updated via social media. He recently revealed that chapters 401-403 are complete and shared new artwork of Gon.
Fans eagerly anticipate updates on Gon’s journey, especially his struggle to regain full control of his Nen after the Chimera Ant Arc. While Volume 37 primarily focused on Kurapika, there is hope that Gon will play a significant role in the upcoming chapters. The English release date for Volume 38 remains unknown, but excitement continues to build among the global fanbase.
