How to Find and Photograph Boars for the Daily Challenge in GTA Online

Grand Theft Auto Online has expanded significantly since its initial release, and with the introduction of the Expanded & Enhanced edition, wildlife now roams the streets and forests of Los Santos. Among the new features is a daily photography challenge, introduced with the Chop Shop update, where players are rewarded for photographing specific animals, including boars. Here’s how to start the challenge and where to locate boars during your free-roam multiplayer sessions.

Starting the Animal Photography Challenge

To begin the daily photography challenge, head to the Los Santos Tourist Board, located on the western highway between Los Santos and Paleto Bay. Look for the purple camera icon on your map. When you arrive, you’ll see a Park Ranger near the sign. Press right on the D-Pad while standing in front of the sign to receive the list of three animals you need to photograph that day.

If you’re already out exploring or don’t want to make the trip, check your in-game phone for an email from the tourist board. The message should arrive when you enter a free-roam multiplayer session, providing you with the list of animals to capture. Successfully photographing one animal will earn you $20,000, and completing all three for the day will net you $40,000. During special events, these rewards can be doubled.

Photographing your first animal will unlock the Park Ranger SUV for purchase from the Warstock Cache and Carry website, and capturing all three animals for the first time will unlock a unique outfit.

Where to Find Boars in GTA Online

Boars frequently appear on the list of animals required for the daily photography challenge. These animals are most commonly found during the daytime in Blaine County, particularly in the hills and forests around Grapeseed or the Paleto Forest.

One reliable location to find boars is near the abandoned motel in Sandy Shores. However, your best bet is to search the dirt road running alongside the train tracks north of the Sonora Desert airstrip. Start at the intersection and move eastward along the road. A boar should spawn either on the road or nearby.

To avoid scaring the boar away, enter sneaking mode as you approach. Once you spot the boar, take out your phone, ensure the boar is unobstructed in the center of the frame, and snap the photo to complete the challenge and claim your reward.
