A third trailer and a new visual for the mystery anime SHOSHIMIN: How to Become Ordinary have been released, promoting the upcoming “Summer Exclusive Tropical Parfait Case.” The visual features main characters Jogoro Kobato and Yuki Osanai relaxing in a cozy, wooden cafe, enjoying enormous parfaits. The trailer highlights a festival scene where Yuki, wearing a fox mask, realizes she has forgotten to get cotton candy.
SHOSHIMIN premiered in Japan on July 6 (effectively July 7 at 1:30 AM JST) and is available for streaming on Crunchyroll and Ani-One Asia. The anime follows Kobato, who, after a tough experience called “wisdom work,” decides to live a humble life. He makes a pact with his classmate Osanai to lead quiet lives in high school. However, mysterious events and disasters keep occurring around them, challenging their quest for normalcy.
Based on the SHOSHIMIN series by Honobu Yonezawa, the anime is adapted from novels published by Tokyo Sogensha Sougen’s Suiri Bunko, which include four main volumes released between 2004 and 2009. A new novel came out in April 2024, and previous volumes inspired manga adaptations.
