Dekin no Mogura Anime to Premiere in July 2025

A TV anime adaptation of Natsumi Egura’s Dekin no Mogura manga is set to premiere in July 2025. A teaser trailer and visual have already been released, building excitement for the upcoming series. The anime follows the manga’s intriguing premise, with university students Magi and Yaeko at its core.

The story begins when Magi and Yaeko encounter a strange man who’s injured by a falling dictionary. Despite bleeding heavily, he refuses medical help or police intervention, leaving the two students bewildered. This bizarre encounter causes Magi and Yaeko to start seeing unusual and inexplicable things, setting the stage for a series of strange events.

The anime will feature Yuichi Nakamura as the voice of the titular Mogura, with Hiroshi Ishiodori, known for An Archdemon’s Dilemma: How to Love Your Elf Bride, directing the series. Shinzo Fujita, who worked on To Your Eternity, is handling the series composition, and Yoko Tanabe, who worked on How I Attended an All-Guy’s Mixer, is the character designer. The anime will be produced by Brain’s Base, the studio known for Durarara!! and My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU.

Dekin no Mogura has been serialized in Kodansha’s Morning magazine since 2021. The manga will release its eighth volume on November 21, 2024, continuing its intriguing mix of mystery and supernatural elements. With a unique premise and talented team behind it, the anime adaptation is generating much anticipation for its 2025 debut.
