Indian gaming giant Nazara Technologies has acquired UK-based Curve Games from the Catalis Group in a deal worth ₹2.47 billion ($28.9 million). With this acquisition, Nazara will take full ownership of Curve, marking a strategic move to expand beyond mobile gaming into the PC and console space.
Curve Games, based in London, will continue operating from its existing office, retaining all staff and leadership. The acquisition also includes Curve’s in-house studios: Runner Duck in the UK and IronOak Games in Canada. This move strengthens Nazara’s presence in global gaming and adds to its earlier acquisition of UK mobile studio Fusebox Games.
Curve is known for publishing successful indie titles such as Human Fall Flat, For the King II, and Badlands Crew. Curve Games has exceeded 100 million downloads and generated approximately £24.4 million (\$32.6 million) in revenue in 2024. Nazara aims to tap into Curve’s PC and console publishing expertise to fast-track the creation of cross-platform gaming IPs.
Nazara Technologies CEO Nitish Mittersain stated that Curve’s strong experience in PC and console gaming makes them a perfect partner as Nazara looks to grow beyond mobile into high-quality, cross-platform titles. He added that the acquisition enhances Nazara’s overall capabilities and supports its goal of becoming a leading global gaming company.
Stuart Dinsey, Executive Chairman of Curve Games, called the acquisition an exciting new chapter. He noted that Nazara’s strong ecosystem, reach in emerging markets, and long-term vision make them a valuable strategic partner.
Catalis Group Chair Sharon Baylay added that while Curve’s departure is bittersweet, the publisher is set to thrive under Nazara’s leadership.
The deal also positions Curve as a potential gateway for Indian developers looking to enter the global gaming market.
