Publisher Playstack and solo developer Stubby Games have announced that VOID/BREAKER, a fast-paced roguelite first-person shooter, will launch in Early Access for PC via Steam on August 20. A full release across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC is scheduled for 2026.
VOID/BREAKER throws players into a high-octane battle for freedom against a hostile AI in a dystopian world. You’re trapped in an endless cycle—forced to fight, die, and repeat—as ruthless machines try to crush any chance of escape. But the system isn’t perfect, and you’re about to exploit it.

The game promises lightning-fast gunplay paired with smooth, agile movement. Every encounter demands speed and precision as you dodge enemies, return fire, and move fluidly through destructible environments. Environmental destruction isn’t just eye candy—it plays a crucial role in combat. Blow holes in walls, collapse floors, and turn the battlefield in your favor.
One of the game’s standout features is its deep weapon customization. Using an advanced gun-modding system, players can craft countless weapon variants. Combine mods to unlock powerful synergies, experiment with builds, and become an unstoppable force. With each run, new choices emerge—choose your path, assess the risks, and decide how far you’re willing to push.
Developed solely by Daniel Stubbington, known for his Portal-inspired puzzle game The Entropy Centre (2022), VOID/BREAKER is a labor of love. This project marks his shift from cerebral puzzles to adrenaline-charged action, blending roguelite systems with explosive FPS gameplay.
With its intense combat, strategic depth, and ever-changing runs, VOID/BREAKER is shaping up to be a must-play for roguelite and FPS fans alike. Early Access begins August 20—will you break the system?
