Some Starfield players are encountering issues unlocking a significant early-game achievement, with reports coming in from both Steam and Xbox Game Pass versions of the RPG.

Despite reaching six million players within a day of its official release, Bethesda’s space-themed RPG, Starfield, has faced a peculiar problem. Players have reported difficulties unlocking the “For All, Into the Starfield” achievement, which should be one of the game’s easiest to obtain. This achievement is typically awarded for entering space for the first time, a milestone that should take no more than an hour of gameplay. Surprisingly, more than a quarter of Starfield’s player base on Xbox consoles and PC Game Pass still hasn’t unlocked this achievement over a week since the game’s launch. On Steam, 13.3% of Starfield owners are also missing the same achievement as of September 14.
However, it seems that these percentages are skewed by a bug rather than players not reaching the milestone. Several fans have taken to Reddit to report that they were unable to unlock this introductory achievement, suggesting that it may be bugged. Interestingly, no Xbox console owners have reported a similar issue, suggesting that the problem may be specific to the PC versions, including the Windows Store version of Starfield.

While the exact cause of the bug remains unclear, such issues are usually fixable by the developer. Starfield has already received two updates in a short span, with the latest patch taking it to version 1.7.29. Bethesda’s track record of supporting its games suggests that more updates are likely to follow, and hopefully, one of them will address this problem with the “For All, Into the Starfield” achievement.
It’s worth noting that some PC players may also be missing the achievement because they used console commands or mods, which typically disable achievements. However, there are Starfield mods available that re-enable achievements, providing a workaround for this issue.
Overall, while this achievement bug may be frustrating for some players, it is likely to be resolved in a future update, ensuring a smoother experience for Starfield enthusiasts.
