A Starfield player has encountered a curious glitch that has introduced an unexpected traveling companion to their gaming experience. Starfield, despite its highly anticipated release, has been marked by various glitches and bugs, and this particular player’s encounter adds a unique twist to the list of reported issues.
Reddit user ReverendRoo recently shared a series of screenshots showcasing their peculiar Starfield glitch. In these images, ReverendRoo can be seen navigating the vast expanse of the Starfield universe in their spaceship, accompanied by an asteroid that closely follows their every move. What makes this glitch even more intriguing is that the asteroid continues to trail ReverendRoo even through Starfield’s loading screens, as evidenced by the different planets seen in the background.
ReverendRoo noted that they have been unable to shake off the persistent asteroid companion, despite 30 hours of gameplay. What’s more, it appears they are not alone in experiencing this phenomenon, as other Starfield players have reported similar encounters, some even mentioning that they have multiple asteroids trailing their ships simultaneously, with the potential to accumulate up to six of these rock followers.
While this glitch adds an element of unexpected companionship to the game, it can also lead to performance issues, particularly on Xbox Series X/S, where some players have reported crashes. The size and potential collision risk of these asteroids could pose a hazard to ReverendRoo’s custom Starfield ship, especially if their hull integrity is low.
The images shared by ReverendRoo highlight the unusual nature of this glitch, and it’s currently unclear whether it’s merely a visual bug or if there are deeper implications. Given the ongoing reports of this issue, it’s possible that a future Starfield update may address and resolve the asteroid companion glitch.
In the realm of gaming, glitches and unexpected bugs often contribute to the community’s amusement and provide memorable moments, and the Starfield asteroid companion is undoubtedly one such unforgettable occurrence.
