Like many games of its genre, Lies of P introduces various mechanics, some of which may initially appear gimmicky but can prove to be invaluable in specific situations. One such mechanic is the Wishtone, a versatile utility item that can serve different purposes based on its type and use.
Wishstone Location – Giangio The Alchemist
Before you can harness the power of the Wishtone, you must first locate it. To obtain this remarkable item, seek out Giangio, a sickly alchemist on a quest to find the elusive Gold Coin Fruit. You’ll encounter Giangio for the first time on the Path of Misery, and this is where your journey to acquire the Wishtone begins:
- Teleport to the Path of Misery Stargazer.
- Traverse the natural path, crossing the broken bridge until you arrive at a small chapel.
- Enter the chapel, continuing straight instead of taking a left.
- Navigate through a winding path until you meet Giangio.
During your conversation with Giangio, he will share some of his backstory and present you with the Cube, a catalyst that grants you the ability to use Wishstones. As a bonus, he will also give you a recovery Wishstone for free.
Once you reach the main St. Frangelico’s Cathedral Chapel, you can regularly find Giangio near the St. Frangelico’s Cathedral Chapel Stargazer. Speak to him to replenish your Wishstone inventory. However, after defeating the Black Rabbit Brotherhood in their Malum District hideout, Giangio relocates to the room next to the Gold Coin Fruit tree.
How to Gain Wishstones
Acquiring Wishstones is straightforward. Simply approach Giangio and request a new one, and he will oblige. This process remains free until you defeat the Black Rabbit Brotherhood and gain access to the Gold Coin Fruit tree.
Upon unlocking this portion of the Hotel, Giangio will charge you for his services using Gold Coin Fruits. However, in return, you’ll gain access to a broader range of Wishstones. These newly available Wishstones offer diverse benefits, including healing, increased stamina, specter enhancements, and temporary invulnerability.
How to Use the Wishstone
While Wishstones may initially seem gimmicky and have a longer charge-up time compared to other utility items like Pulse Cells, they can prove handy in specific situations. To utilize a Wishstone effectively, follow these steps:
- Visit a Stargazer or interact with Giangio and select the ‘Switch Wishstone’ option.
- Choose the Wishstone you wish to use (you may need to purchase it from Giangio first).
- Assign the Cube to one of your Belt or Item Slots.
- Activate the Wishstone by pressing the corresponding key.
Keep in mind that the Wishstone’s charge time is slower than that of the Pulse Cell, making it less suitable as a backup during intense boss fights. However, if you’ve upgraded your P-Organ to increase its speed, it can become a more viable option. Otherwise, reserve the Wishstone for scenarios where no better alternatives are available, such as recovering health after a battle to prepare for the challenges of a new area.
